Precise catalyst layer deposition for PEM and AEM electrolyzers
The UAM4000 is an ultrasonic coating system engineered for fuel cell manufacturing. It atomizes catalyst slurries into fine droplets (18-200 μm) and deposits uniform layers on proton exchange membranes (PEM) and anion exchange membranes (AEM). Operating at 25-180 kHz, it enables non-destructive coating with minimal material waste.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Model | UAM4000 |
| Operating Frequency | 25–180 kHz |
| Flow Rate | 0.001–50 mL/min |
| Droplet Size | 18–200 μm |
| Film Thickness | 20 nm–100 μm |

UAM4000 and UAM6000 models offer different processing areas. Optional roll-to-roll conveyors for continuous production.
Constructed with stainless steel and titanium alloy for corrosion resistance. Closed spray chamber with vacuum exhaust for safe handling of solvent-based slurries.
Catalyst layer coating on PEM and AEM membranes for fuel cells and electrolyzers. Also suitable for GDL microporous layer preparation and MEA production.
Custom fixtures for different membrane sizes, multi-nozzle configurations for scale-up, and integration with existing production lines.
A national research institute used UAM4000 for CCM preparation. They achieved catalyst utilization over 95%, reduced membrane scrap from 28% to below 2%, and improved MEA peak power density consistency (batch deviation ≤3%).
